Baptism

What an awesome God we serve. What a wonderful, God-filled day. Wow. God's presence was surely felt by our family today. God showed me that even though there may be problems in life and in some relationships, He is present and He has blessed us beyond measure. The ultimate blessing being Jesus Christ. Our biggest earthly blessing being Brandy and my relationship and our kids. Wow.

We didn't know how Jaden would do. Jaden hasn't left my or Brandy's side since he was placed in our arms in China. So, he can be particular about who holds him and when. Our pastor, Mark, who is also one of Brandy's best friends, said before the service that if Jaden didn't do well while being baptised, he would skip the part where he walks up and down the aisle with him.

He did wonderfully while being baptised. In fact, he seemed to enjoy having that water scooped up over his head! So Pastor Mark whisked him away and he was fine. Of course sucking on his fingers and occasionally reaching out towards us...but not in a bad way.

Can't live without my blankie! Lately it's just about been a part of him!

Brandy's a part of a men's bible study/accountability group, and the other 3 guys in the group all participated in baptism. Dan is a deacon and he said the prayer. Mark, of course, and Terry sang so beautifully. We showed a slide show while he sang. I'm hoping to be able to download it into a smaller file so I can post it. It's a tear-jerker!

Then we had a brunch (church was at 8:30) afterwords in the church youth room. Many friends and most of our family came. It was fun to see the kids play and get to visit. Then our friends helped to clean up, thanks guys!

My Grandmother's health hasn't been well, but she was able to come. I was so glad!
