Happy Birthday, Shianne!!

Yesterday was my Shianne's 8th birthday. Wow. Hard to believe. On her actual "birth-day" we celebrated just us as a family. That was last night. We ate homemade pizza (with soy cheese, Shianne and Tye are allergic to dairy) around our fire pit outside, then Shi opened her gifts from us, and then we made our version of s'mores (marshmallows between two choc chip cookies...yumm!). It was really nice.
The pics above are of Shianne's party with friends a couple of weeks ago. We wanted to have it before school started so we could have it on a week night. She had a backwards party. It was hilarious! We said "goodbye" when people came and "hi" when we dropped the kids off. In order to get everyone to be quiet, I had to say "be loud!." Everything was opposite. All her presents were "so not cool" (translation very cool).
First we decorated upsidedown ice cream cone cakes (decorating the cone part), and then ate them (desert first at a backwards party, of course). Then we sang "You to birthday happy" and she blew out her candles. Then we opened presents, present first, then card. Then we had pizza slices crust side up on our plates, with upsidedown pop--pop cans served upside down with a hole in the bottom and a straw. Then we played backwards games. The night was a roaring (literally) success.
The first picture is Shianne with her very homemade (I'm not a cake decorator) birthday cake, and yes the words are backwards. The second picture is Sierra upside down on the couch, we took all the kids pictures that way. The third is Shianne opening her presents (there were 15 kids in our house, thanks SO MUCH to our friends Chris and Deb for staying and helping!!). And last is Shianne decorating her ice cream cone cake.
Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with Shianne Beth for 8 years...
