The Year of the Pig

Well, the Chinese 2007 began February 18. It's the Year of the Pig. And possibly the Year of the Golden Pig. And I guess that's a really good thing in China. Frankly in America, not sure if someone called you a pig that would be a good thing.
But check out this link. I am just amazed. There’s a video that goes with it, too. As the article says, is it the Year of the Pig or the Year of the Baby?
Edited by Carey March 4: I just tried to pull up the link and for some reason the MSNBC article has disapeared. The jist of it? There is a baby BOOM in China right now...about 20% more, which would compute to about 3 million more babies in 2007. It isn't thought that couples are having more than one child, but that they were waiting for this special year to have them.
Wonder if this will have any affect on foreign adoptions? Wonder if there will be more abandoned babies or less? Praise the Lord that we are not constrained by superstitions!

Above is the definition of a person you would call a “pig” in China.
In America, Pig is defined as per the Dictionary as “a person of piglike character, behavior, or habits, as one who is gluttonous, very fat, greedy, selfish, or filthy”
Hmmm…a difference in culture here?
