Fire!

It's odd when there's so much going on that we have a fire in our machine shed and it doesn't even rate for the blog!

It happened last week Tuesday. Sierra had a drs appointment in Sioux Falls and we had to leave by noon. I so wanted the Fed Ex man to come before then, and they were supposed to. He was bringing the official paper file on Jaden, the one we needed our doctor to look over. I really wanted to take it in before I left, but it seemed it wasn't meant to be.

Later Brandy called me almost home from his truck run. I said it hadn't come, and if he had a chance could he run home and check and then take it to the drs?

He did about 2:30ish. Called me excited that it was here. About a 1/2 hour later called to say he had gone to feed the dogs and put out a fire!!! I just about cried at God's goodness. If the Fed Ex package had come when it was supposed to, Brandy wouldn't have checked on the dogs until that evening! We had lots of people praying for us because of the adoption and seriously I believe it was because we were covered in prayer. The 5 adult dogs and 5 puppies weren't hurt! And there wasn't too much damage. Brandy thinks he can fix the machine shed--replace some boards and tin without making a claim. We are claiming our camper and Brandy's car because of smoke damage. Today was the 1st day that after dog chores we didn't have to put our clothes in the garage and immediately take a shower!
As you can see in this picture, the fire was in the puppies kennel, started by a heat lamp. Tara had the puppies on the other side of the kennel, and the smoke was high enough that they weren't hurt. Praise God!

If you look towards the top of this picture, you will see that Brandy cut off the support post. It was almost completely burned up to that point...about 4 feet high! There were more bales around, it's a God thing that it didn't spread any further, only kept to a slow, smoldering fire.

Yeah, the puppies are doing great!
