Date Night

A few years ago we started setting up "date nights" in the summer (and occasionally in the winter) with Brandy and the girls.

The last couple of years Tye has been old enough to participate and know what's going on, too. Brandy started them because he knows his job--and just life in general, keeps him really busy, and it's good to have one on one time with the kids. Having a good relationship with your Dad can be really important. And especially as the girls grow, there's a chance that he won't know how to relate to them (girly things vs manly things...Mars vs Venus, etc). So this is a way for them to keep their relationships strong.

Well, Tye had his summer date night with Dad Friday night. Because they were going to the same city Brandy's semi was in--getting fixed--and it was now done, it ended up being a double date. Which was just fine with Tye cuz he got to play with his friend. And, although it wasn't always one on one time, Tye does get more of that then the girls cuz he's always asking to do this or that with Dad. Brandy's friend Broc and his 3 year old Caden came along. That way Brandy and Tye could drive the semi home. Tye also loves riding in the truck.

They went mini-golfing, then practicing hitting some long golf shots, then out for hot wings (or chicken strips for the boys). They had a great time!

Looks like fun...I'd better get my "date night" on the calendar soon! (smile)
