Tye's Surgery

Today was the day for Tye's surgery. Nothing major, but still a little stressful. He did so well!! He did not cry at all until they gave him the mask with anesthesia...and then the nurse said he cried a little bit. He was upset when he came back, of course (it's upsetting!), but nothing major. He was such a trooper!!

He had his bladder scoped to check for CI, a bladder disease. Sierra has it. It tends to run in families so when he started showing symptoms they thought he should be checked out. He also had a very minor surgery at the same time. It turned out to be good that we had it done, because he does have CI. It's a disease (not catchy by the way) that can be cured over time with medication if you catch it as a child. So we're thankful. And praising God that it went so well!

What a wonderful hospital we went to. They are so good with kids there. They had a child specialist of sorts come in with a bear in a gown with "stickers" on his chest, and an IV with a wrap around it on his hand/arm. She also had a book with pictures of the actual rooms Tye would be in without mom and dad. He took the bear with him to surgery, but then had to give it back so they could use it for other kids. He did get a lion beenie to keep.

They had movies on demand (kinda like pay per view but free...welllll...I'm sure nothing is really free in the hospital but...included..thank the Lord for good insurance!) so we watched the Bee Movie while we waited.

Now tonight he's pretty much the same ole Tye. Brandy and the girls are at the awards night for ball. I stayed home with Tye and Jaden because he should be taking it easy until tomorrow.
